My youngest daughter was terrified of the public toilets with the flashing red light. The minute little ones sit down on these toilets their heads go below the light sensor and it flushes. This sends the little one flying off the toilet in fear of being sucked down into it:-) Subsequent refusal of using public toilets follows close behind.
Tip:
Carry post-it notes in your purse, diaper bag... They (you) can stick the post-it note over the sensor keeping the toilet from flushing. When they're done, simply remove the post-it and discard.
No more standing in the stall with your hand over the red light!
